SPEAKERS:
Blake Smith, Director of Environment, Energy and Vehicle Safety, Ford Motor Company of Canada
Mr. Blake Smith began his career in industry with Walker Industries in 1978. As the Manager of Research and Development, Mr. Smith created the new operating division, providing research, product development, technical project management, consulting, quality assurance and analytical services for the Walker group of companies. He was later appointed the position of General Manager of Walker Laboratories where he established and managed a physical testing laboratory.
Mr. Smith began working with Ford Motor Company of Canada in 1992. Initially hired as the Manager, Environmental Quality, he was principally responsible for facility related environmental issues for Ford of Canada. In 1998, he was appointed Director, Environment, Energy and Vehicle Safety. In this capacity, Mr. Smith is responsible for vehicle and facility environmental matters, energy issues, vehicle safety and several other technical areas.
Aamer Hasham, Manager, Project Management Office, Customer Service, Metrolinx
Aamer has extensive experience managing large-scale operational, customer service and technical programs. He has an outstanding track record of building winning project management teams and is highly skilled in PMO set-up, vendor & contract management, staff development and building stakeholder relationships.
With over 12 years of experience in program management, Aamer has successfully delivered a number of high-profile initiatives in a variety of environments including Honda Financial Services, Rogers Communications Ltd. and Deloitte & Touché LLP.
Aamer currently leads the Customer Service Project Management Office at Metrolinx (an Agency of the Government of Ontario) with a focus on improving customer experience through transit initiatives impacting passengers across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Aamer has a BSc. in Computer Science from the University of Calgary and is a certified Project Management Professional.
Rob Abernethy, Managing Director, Ecoinsight Instruments
Rob has over 30 years of experience in the environmental, water and wastewater industries. Past senior management roles include; General Manager of American Carbon Services, President of MS Filter, and Managing Director of Green Turtle Technologies. Rob is currently serving as Managing Director of Ecoinsight Instruments, a start-up company that will provide smart meter technology to the water and wastewater market.
Rob’s focus has been commercialization of early stage water and wastewater companies with an emphasis on strategic marketing and establishing sales distribution channels.
