The Industry Training Authority (ITA) invites you to meet with other business leaders and stakeholders from the North and South Fraser regions (Maple Ridge to White Rock) at the ITA, Growing Your Business through Apprenticeship seminar. Speakers will present on the ways in which they have successfully implemented effective apprenticeship systems within their own organizations, to positively impact their organizational effectiveness within the trades.
An ITA survey documented sponsors perceptions of the value of apprenticeship for their businesses. The results of this survey provided key areas for focus in the following areas:
- Training and skills of apprentices aligns with company needs
- Apprentices increase profitability
- Sponsorship provides recruitment and retention advantages
- Administrative requirements of sponsorship are manageable
Best practices in apprenticeship, from both union and private sectors will be highlighted to showcase how government, educational institutions, and industry have effectively worked together in the lower mainland within BC’s apprenticeship system. Speakers will demonstrate how their work supports the attraction, training, and retaining of apprentices, from a financial and human resources perspective, and how this has resulted in strategic advantages for their businesses.
