Event description
In this session, Becca Keller, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, will offer strategies to support participants.

About this event

In this session, Becca Keller, a Board Certified Behaviour Anaylst and Category A Behaviour Consultant on the Registry of Autism Service Providers, will talk about Positive Behaviour Support. Positive Behaviour Support is a branch of Applied Behaviour Analysis that focuses on the prevention of problem behaviours.  It emphasizes the structuring the learning environment to optimize student success. This talk will explore the uses of positive behaviour supports and how they can be utilized in the therapeutic riding setting. This will be extremely helpful as we gear up for summers camp!

This event is open to ALL VTRA volunteers!  This event will be on ZOOM.

About Becca:  Becca Keller is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst and Category A Behaviour Consultant on the Registry of Autism Service Providers.  She first began working with children with Autism in 2009 at a therapeutic horseback riding center in Vancouver.  Following that she went on to working first as a Behaviour Interventionist and, after completing her Master's of Education, a Behaviour Consultant.  Becca is passionate about combining her love of working with children with differing abilities with horses.  She believes behaviour intervention at a therapeutic riding center offers an opportunity to provide therapy in a fun and engaging environment.  Outside of working Becca enjoys riding and competing on her quarter horse, Bo.
