Event description
We'll hike and then slow right down to notice and connect with where we are, awakening our senses and discovering a new path to de-stress.

About this Event

Do you get to the end of a hike and then realize that you didn't really notice where you'd just traveled? Or that you enjoyed the conversation with your hiking partner so much that you didn't hear the sounds of nature? Something special happens when we slow down, get quiet and tune in on the details of where we are.

Come out on the trail with a Certified Forest Therapy Guide and discover for yourself what that "something special" is. This kind of slow time in nature reduces stress hormones and improves heart functioning in a way that's different from the exercise of a hike. It can also shift us into a new level of calm, connection and healing.

The Crazy Horse Trail is on a gorgeous section of Canadian Shield near March Rd. and Huntmar. The trail is moderately strenuous, with short rises and descents, bedrock and uneven footing in places. There is no outhouse. We'll cover 5-6 km in total. It's longer than a regular Forest Therapy walk and we'll be going at hiking pace for about half that distance.

Tickets are $35 (all fees included), with 10% going to Friends of the Carp Hills, who established this trail and maintain it. I'll send you all the details -- what to bring, where to meet, etc. -- after you register.

I look forward to hiking -- and slowing down -- with you!
