Event description

Description

Do you work, live, and play in the beautiful Coquitlam River watershed? Join us for a family-friendly guided tour along the Coquitlam River to learn more about the unique characteristics of this watershed, about the pressures caused by urbanization and development, such as the introduction of invasive plant species, and what YOU can do to help manage the spread of invasive species in your neighborhood.

These tours will be taking place during Port Coquitlam's Canada 150 Celebration at Lion's Park, on Saturday, August 26 from 12 - 4 PM. They will be about 45 minutes long and cover approximately 500m total. Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes and to select a FREE native plant for their yard or garden!

RSVP is not required, but please indicate if you are planning to come to 1 of the 4 tours offered throughout the day.

Please note that while most of this tour takes place on the paved Traboulay PoCo Trail, a portion ncludes a short walk on uneven ground in proximity to the Coquitlam River shoreline. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Thank you to the Port Coquitlam Community Foundation for the financial support to offer these tours!
