Event description

Description

Compass Early Learning & Care and the Child Care Action Network invite you to an evening of conversation with Ann Douglas, who will be talking about themes from her new book, "Happy Parents, Happy Kids."

The book is a guide to boosting your enjoyment of parenting while maximizing the health and happiness of your entire family at the same time. Themes include strategies to:

  • manage your moods
  • minimize stress
  • increase your energy level
  • safeguard your physical and mental health

— and how you encourage your kids to do the same!

Based on interviews with over 75 Canadian parents and other experts Ann will share her insight into the tremendous pressures that parents are facing these days.

Put aside your anxiety, guilt, and feelings of overwhelm and come chat about some parent-proven solutions that can be tackled at the individual, family, and community level.

As a lead up to election season, Ann will also share some strategies about putting child care on the federal agenda. Collectively we can use our voices to let politicians know that access to quality child care is an important issue in our community.
