Event description

Description

On March 26th, we will be collaborating with Shecosystem for our "Hack for Craft" Hackathon!

For girls ages 10-13, we will be using a variety of different software to code, design and make our ideas come to life. The challenge: Finding a way to support local and international artisans through technology.

During this 3-hour hackathon, girls will be divided into teams and work collaboratively, while being mentored by their team leader. Girls will learn how the power of technology can change the lives of others (and themselves!), and understand the importance of keeping arts, craft and creativity alive.

No experience necessary!

For girls ages 10-13 | Students must bring their own laptops and chargers
When: Sunday March 26th 2017 | 1pm-4pm
Where: Shecosystem - Toronto

Maker Tech School is an after school program for youth, located in Toronto and York Region.
We provide a learning experience that teaches youth the fundamental skills of digital literacy and design, while encouraging them to become innovators and creators of technology in a collaborative environment.

Through teaching youth to become makers, not just consumers of technology, they will shape their future and the future of the digital generation.

Programs are created and developed by students and graduates with a background in New Media and Business from Ryerson University.
