Hack Your Community is a two-day event focused on gathering students together at McMaster University and providing them with a focused environment for developing ideas and solutions to community-driven issues. The issues will be based on a collection of data provided by the Community Foundations of Canada (CFC).
The event will start on Saturday morning with a keynote speaker from the CFC accompanied by a complimentary breakfast and a social event for the students to gain familiarity and comfort with their peers and mentors. Following this, the students will be given the remainder of the day to work on their ideas addressing community issues.
The second day of the event will allow students to continue working on their ideas and will culminate in a presentation competition where the top teams will be awarded cash prizes as well as the opportunity to present their ideas at the McMaster University Research Showcase on November 2nd and 3rd, 2015.
