Halton's Feast and Solidarity Celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day 2019 will be one to remember. Come be a part of it.

About this Event

An evening is planned full of traditional food, dance and activities for all. Special Guest, Tribal Vision as well as a guided Moccasin Trail, is sure to add cultural excitement to the evening. Indigenous Cuisine from Six Nations of the Grand River Territory and drumming and singing from Manitou MKWA - Spirit Bear, of The Mississauga Credit First Nation, will feed your soul.

Face painting, vendors, outdoor activities and Indigenous partners, will all be available for experiencing and learning. Community will come together to celebrate and share the love and gifts of the Indigenous culture in our Nation. Our Grandmothers will lead us through celebrating the Solstice to conclude the evening.

*Guests are asked to Please bring a Non-Perishable and Unexpired food item for our friends at Six Nations Food Bank.*

Notes for our Guests

  • Non-Perishable and Unexpired food for donation, Monetary donations will also be accepted for the Six Nations Food Bank
  • Complimentary food and drink while supplies last
  • Guided Moccasin Trail guests will be bused to Lions Valley Park for a 40 minute experience. 2 walks scheduled, first groups leaves at 5:30 pm
  • Tribal Vision performance to begin at 6:15 pm
  • Residential School Survivors- "Save the Evidence" selling t-shirts
  • Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls - information table

Six Nations Food Bank provides food services to Natives residing on Six Nations and The Mississauga Credit First Nations, who are facing economic and/or financial hardship – to have access to food and programming that supports a nutritionally healthy lifestyle, as well as items that support healthy hygiene.

TRIBAL VISION DANCE is a family dance troupe from the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. The group is comprised of champion singers and dancers with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with young audiences and families to build a deeper understanding and appreciation of First Nations culture.
