About this event

It is entirely possible to make lovely pottery without a wheel.

Before ceramicists invented the wheel, hand building was the only way they could create functional and artistic ceramic forms.

The most common hand building techniques are pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building.

What is Hand building pottery?

The hand building technique involves rolling out clay to an even thickness - usually 1 cm - then cutting shapes, folding, bending, manipulating and joining together to form a finished object. Clay objects are left to dry evenly before bisque firing for at least 7 days

You are also Glazing/Painting your pieces on the same day.

Pottery will be ready for pick up at the studio after 2 weeks of your class.

Location: 3919 Howard ave. Windsor (at the intersection of Howard + Cabana, besides Roseland Church)
