Workshop Description
When your child is full of frustration, is angry, or upset and difficult to parent, he or she may exhibit some or many of the following:

  • unable to hear "no"
  • refuses to follow your directions or listen to you
  • fights chronically with siblings
  • speaks rudely or swears
  • whines constantly
  • wakes up grumpy
  • makes many demands
  • has difficulty not getting their way or losing
  • tries to negotiate or change your mind
  • calls others names
  • blames others
  • hits or can be physically aggressive
  • negative or moody
When facing frustration, disappointment, or a limit, it is common for children to feel upset and attempt to change parents' minds.  Often this frustration leads to meltdowns and tantrums or just chronic negativity. Some children may get stuck in these difficult emotions and this can lead to a host of perplexing and concerning behaviours. Understanding the roots of frustration and aggression is the key to being effective in dealing with these intense emotions and the challenging behaviours that can result. It is also the key to cultivating resilience in our children throughout their lives.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:
  • Respond to your child when they have a tantrum or become aggressive
  • Set limits and help your child accept hearing no
  • Discipline in ways that preserve the connection
  • Handle family conflict that preserves attachment to you and between family members
  • Understand the roots of frustration and aggression
  • Cultivate resilience in your child

This workshop is suitable for parents of any age group but examples will focus on dealing with children from toddlers to pre-teens.

Tickets are non-refundable but can be passed on to another person.
