London, United Kingdom
The purpose of the textile workshops is to inspire dialogue around rich multicultural themes relating to how people see their cultural heritages both historically and in the present. The two-hour long workshop will include a presentation of how to design and make a simple collage of fabrics or tapestry. For example, the participants will, through hands on work using a piece of fabric and threads of coloured wool, weave or embroider a picture, pattern etc. in a theme of their choice. Artist June Yun will facilitate the workshops by giving participants the opportunity to explore their ideas firstly with sketches, and then by producing tapestries or Wall Hangings.
