 Saturday, November 11th, 2017

From: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

There is no FAMILY change room at this facility so if you need a personal change room please let me know and we will organize a space at the facility. Email jenne@autismontario.com

RULES OF THE POOL:

NON-Swimmers - Any child 6 years and under must be accompanied by an adult and be within arms' reach at all times. Any child between 7 and 10 years old who are non-swimmers must be accompanied by an adult.

SWIM TEST REQUIRED: Any child between 7 and 10 years of age must perform and successfully pass the swim test. If they do not pass the swim test, he/ she must be accompanied by an adult in the pool and be within arms' reach at all times.

STRONG SWIMMERS: Any child who has successfully passed the swim test can be in the pool unaccompanied by an adult. These swimmers can swim anywhere in the pool.

RATIOS: (Children:adult)

6 years and under    non-swimmer/ weak swimming (2:1)

7 to 10 years            non-swimmer/ weak swimming (4:1)

7 to 10 years in lifejackets non-swimmer/ weak swimming (5:1)

NOTE: Supervision of children/youth at this Social Learning Opportunity is the sole responsibility of parents/guardians and caregivers; childcare will not be provided.

 Due to allergies and sensitivities, please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, aftershave, or scented products such as hairspray or lotion.

RÈGLEMENTS DE LA PISCINE

NON-NAGEURS – Tout enfant de 6 ans et moins doit être accompagné par un adulte et demeurer à la portée de ce dernier en tout temps. 

Tous les enfants de 7 à 10 ans qui ne savent pas nager doivent être accompagnés d’un adulte. 

TEST DE NATATION OBLIGATOIRE : Tous les enfants de 7 à 10 ans doivent passer et réussir le test de natation. Ceux qui échouent le test doivent être

General FAQ


1.) Do I need to print out ticket or email confirmations to attend this event?

For most of our events there is no need to print anything, unless the event specifies otherwise.  When you arrive at the event, you will have to check in at the registration desk.  You will be asked for your name and how many people are attending with you.  That's all.


2.) Do I need to bring proof of diagnosis?

No, not needed.  Again, just check in at the registration desk and enjoy the event.


3.) Is there a cost to attend this event?

Almost all of our events are free of charge because the cost is covered by Autism Ontario's Potential Programme, in partnership with Ontario’s Ministry of Children & Youth Services and the local Autism Ontario Chapter.  If there is a cost, you will see it on the registration page when you select how many ticket you want.


4.) Do I need to be a member of Autism Ontario to register and participate?

No.  While membership does provide other great opportunities, events provided through Autism Ontario’s Potential Programme are open to all families of children with ASD, under the age of 18, who reside in Ontario.
