Event description
A special 10 year anniversary screening of ONE BIG HAPA FAMILY & discussion with director/producer Jeff Chiba Stearns

About this Event

After its release in 2010, ONE BIG HAPA FAMILY became the quintessential documentary on mixed Japanese Canadian identity while also addressing the high intermarriage rate within the community. Now ten years later, how are mixed Japanese Canadian youth self-identifying and has anything really changed? Join us for an in-depth evening of engaging dialogue and discussion inspired by this pivotal piece of Japanese Canadian cinema.Screening to be followed by a panel discussion moderated by ONE BIG HAPA FAMILY director Jeff Chiba Stearns with special guests from the film.

We welcome all multiracial people to attend this event. #hapapalooza
