Don’t miss this Toronto premiere! Opera Atelier presents a gorgeous one-hour concert experience melding musical masterpieces by the great English composer Henry Purcell with baroque dance – and a new Canadian commission.

Featuring Mireille Asselin (soprano), Jesse Blumberg (baritone), three Artists of Atelier Ballet in baroque costume, and six members of Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. Harmonia Sacra also features Opera Atelier’s first Canadian commission entitled Inception (for solo violin) - composed and performed by Edwin Huizinga, with contemporary choreography by dancer Tyler Gledhill.

Repertoire includes: The Blessed Virgin's Expostulation; Hosanna in the Highest; Evening Hymn on a Ground; the Golden Sonata; Close Thine Eyes; Chacony in g minor; Dances from King Arthur, The Fairy Queen and Dioclesian.
