Join four of Canada's top debaters who will debate the place of referenda in Canadian politics. Do referenda have the power to open up the system and increase accessibility, bolstering the voice of democracy? Or are they a destabilizing force, threatening the hallmarks of Canadian governance?
After the debate, a key note speech will be given by Dr. Marie Bountrogianni, Ontario's former Minister of Democratic Renewal. She was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, and a cabinet minister in the government of Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty.
