Harvard Club of Ottawa AGM: An Evening with the Governor General David Johnston

The Annual General Meeting of the Harvard Club of Ottawa will feature the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston (’63). The AGM will take place on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat (the Agha Khan Foundation), 199 Sussex Drive. The schedule of the evening is as follows:

5:00 pm: Arrival of members
5:15 to 5:45: Annual General Meeting
5:45: Arrival of non-member guests
6:00: Arrival of The Governor General
6:00 to 6:30: Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres
6:30: Address from The Governor General, David Johnston (’63) followed by Q & A. The Governor General's address will include thoughts on the importance of education in an international context.

Among His Excellency’s many accomplishments, he served as President of the Harvard Board of Overseers, the first non-American ever to serve in this role.

For those interested, the Governor General’s address will be followed by dinner at a local restaurant (TBD).

We encourage all members to donate to the Canada at Harvard Fund. The Harvard Club of Ottawa is honoured to join with other Harvard Clubs in Canada to share this important initiative that honours the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston ‘63. The Canada at Harvard Financial Aid Fund, will become The David Johnston Financial Aid Fund for Harvard Students from Canada after the Governor General leaves office in 2017.
