HARVEST is a beautiful autumn evening of Holy Yoga and Journaling followed by a seasonal, zero-waste, vegan and gluten-free dinner.

About this event

You’re invited to HARVEST: Holy Yoga + Dinner at Dusk taking place on Sunday, October 6th at the St. Norbert Arts Centre from 5:30pm - 9:00pm

HARVEST seeks to cultivate the beauty of the autumn season through an all-levels holy yoga class incorporating journaling, followed by a vegan, gluten-free and zero-waste dinner at dusk at the stunning St. Norbert Arts Centre. The evening will end with blankets and bonfires, weather permitting.

The evening has been consciously created with the theme HARVEST in mind; to look at the blessings of our year, to shed what is no longer serving us, and to turn our hearts to Jesus, finding all we need in Him. We will embrace intentional cozy connection before the arrival of winter, choosing to harvest and share our lives as blessings to others.

Philippians 4:12-14 (NIV)

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

As the year gives way to cooler days and changing leaves, we will seek to let go of the things that no longer serve us and reflect on the goodness, the harvest of blessings that are in our lives to prepare you for what’s ahead. Thanksgiving is a time to harvest, reflecting and showing gratitude for all that we have, while deeply understanding that being content in our harvest comes from focusing on Him who gives us strength in all things. To shed the weight of comparing our harvest to another’s field of abundance or blessing, and finding our contentment in God, no matter the place He has called us.

About the Yoga and Journaling:

With scripture as our focus, we will flow to a curated playlist of worship music designed to warm us up and open our hearts to express our thanksgiving to the One who made us who we are. We will take moments of stillness to journal what is coming up for us; what we desire to release like falling leaves and what we hope to take with us as a Harvest into the rest of our year. The all-levels yoga class will begin with a focus on breathwork, moving into a slow flow which will allow you to explore the postures with a mindset of thankfulness. At the end of the yoga class, you will be adorned with essential oils and given the space to reflect.

About the Dinner at Dusk:

A menu of vegan and gluten-free foods has been hand-selected by Kayla to warmly nourish us as we build community together. The Dinner at Dusk has been consciously curated to be as zero-waste as possible, showing appreciation for our land which has graciously provided this food to our bodies. The meal will be enjoyed by soft candlelight on a stunning tablescape as you connect with your new community. Kayla will share a devotion based on the focus scripture and her own personal journey to cultivate authentic and open conversation throughout the evening.

Menu includes:

- Butternut Squash Soup with fresh, local sourdough courtesy of Cocoabeans Bakeshop

- Harvest Quinoa Salad featuring squash, sweet potato, kale, cranberries and pumpkin seeds, with a sweet and soothing vinaigrette featuring mustard from Smak Dab Mustard

- Vegan Charcuterie Board

- Fresh fruit and vegetables sponsored by St-Leon Gardens

- Raw, Vegan Pumpkin Cheesecake for dessert

- Bonfire S’mores sponsored by Aschenti + What The Fluff Marshmallow Company

Giving Back

As we connect and share together over the blessings and difficulties of the year, we hope to also create awareness, while practically supporting those in our community who are in need this season.

A portion of ticket sales from HARVEST will be donated to Siloam Mission, specifically towards their Annual Fall Dinner.

We will also be collecting non-perishable food items to support Siloam Mission’s commitment to serving the homeless in our city. For each non-perishable food item donated, you will receive an entry for a grand prize to be gifted during Dinner!

- Wear clothing you feel comfortable moving in

About Kayla:

Kayla Leskiw is passionate about using food to foster healing and wellness. She is currently becoming a Certified Nutrition Consultant in Pregnancy and Postpartum. Her journey with food as medicine fuels her creativity in the kitchen and she loves pursuing a faith-based life focused on serving others on their unique journey of infertility, pregnancy and motherhood.

About Aelea:

Aelea is a R-HTY, life coach and founder of Wander to Wonder whose passion is helping others live their most vibrant, authentic and God-focused life. Curating intentional events allows her to share her spark for Jesus, Yoga and self-actualization with others.
