Course Length: half day

Course Description:

Participants receive classroom based instruction on the assessment and control of general workplace hazards. We provide comprehensive overviews of the methods of hazard identification and assessment. This includes the provision of tools required to implement an effective method of hazard management/control.

Purpose:

Training in Hazard Assessment and Control is beneficial to employees at all organizational levels, as it aides in the reduction of workplace injuries and incidents. Protection of the employee and the client is of the utmost importance.

Topics Covered:

  • Hazard identification
  • Control of hazards in the workplace
  • Proper handling of hazardous materials
  • Ways of educating staff on proper use and storage of hazardous materials

Exercises:

Throughout the workshop, you will be challenged to think analytically and abstractly regarding potential workplace hazards. In this way we hope to help you make this course personal to your situation and thus, facilitate the application of Hazard Assessment and Control mechanisms.
