Breakfast will be served from 8 to 8:30 a.m. followed by our workshop.

Many jobs today involve sitting or standing and the evidence shows that sedentary lifestyles negatively affect our health--both physically and mentally. The Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace Standard recognizes that physical health and well-being is a key component to good mental health.

Andrew Jobes from Balance at Work will:

  • explain the health risks of prolonged sitting and the importance of moving throughout the day to offset those risks,

  • describe the health benefits of yoga

  • address some common (mis)perceptions about yoga, and

  • introduce participants to a few movements that they can do at their desks to integrate movement into their workdays.
