Class Descriptions:

Jade Moon – Nutrition Plus Taylor

Jade has spent over ten years at Nutrition Plus providing exceptional knowledge and balanced lifestyle solutions for her customers. Supplements can be overwhelming and in determining what could work and what might not. Jade helps each individual based on their specific lifestyle and needs find simple and manageable natural remedies that have her customers relying on her advice.

In today’s world, we may have more active lifestyles and a better understanding of nutrition and diet, but health issues such as stress and anxiety, sleep and insomnia, hormones and thyroid, digestion, lack of energy are still at the forefront of topics that customers are always looking for help on. The age old topic of weight loss is still a hot one but whether we are in our 20’s and 30’s or as we continue to age and move into the various ‘pause’ states – peri, meno, and post of our lives, how we address weight loss and manage those phases becomes a different animal. Jade will talk about some of these issues and some of the solutions that have made the world of difference to her customers!


Barre Class with Tess White

Each Sculpt Barre class contains a mixture of mat exercises, yoga, and pilates, free weights, and dance elements set to fun motivating music. There is no actual dancing involved, and you do not need any experience in dance, yoga, or pilates. Sculpt Barre is a full body toning class designed to tone your arms, core, lower body, and back, using isometric movements.


FIFTY 5 FITNESS: Class description

Fifty 5 Fitness specializes in group fitness classes for women ages 55+. During our session we will work on your cardiovascular endurance, balance, muscular strength and flexibility.

We begin our class by getting our heart pumping with non-impact aerobics. Moving to the beat of the music, these choreographed steps will be safe for your joints and muscles. During our balance portion of the class we try different exercises that will challenge your stability. These exercises will also help strengthen the muscles in your ankles, feet and core.

Using free weights, bands, tubes, balls, and your own body weight we complete many exercises to work all the major muscle groups in the body. The class ends with stretching to work your flexibility and relaxation to leave you feeling stress-free.

FIFTY 5 FITNESS: Instructor Bio – Emily Parkes

Owner and Instructor, Emily Parkes is a University of Winnipeg Kinesiology Graduate. She has her Seniors’ Fitness Instructor Certification from the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging at Western University.

Ever since Emily was little she has loved to move! Drawing on her Kinesiology degree, being a past Director of Recreation at a retirement residence, fifteen years as a dance instructor and her CSFI certification, she created Fifty 5 Fitness almost one year ago.


Confidence Session – Andrea Katz & Allison Gervais from F.I.T. Women & Girls

As two past national level and international level athletes turned business women, we are going to talk to women in this session about confidence in a real and raw way. Sports has allowed us to understand confidence both on and off the playing field, and we want to help women understand self love in a down to earth and authentic way. We’ll discuss negative self-talk and how to stop it, and give you some great tactical tips on keeping your mind positive and on track.
