Event description
A discussion on Asian-Canadian experiences and anti-Asian racism in Canada.

About this Event

Come join us as our panel guests share their experiences as second generation Lutheran Canadians of Chinese and Japanese descent.

The format will be a ‘living room’ style conversation between the 4 panelists sharing their personal experiences as Asian Canadians people of faith in the ELCIC. We will be addressing questions brought forward ahead of time and also during the interview style of conversation between the panelists through a webinar format.

If you have any specific questions ahead of the event you would like addressed, please email us ahead of time. We can-not guarantee all questions will be addressed, but will certainly try and incorporate the question into the conversation. During the panelists sharing, we will have attendees ask questions on the chat- but depending on the emotional capacity of the panelists, the questions may or may not be addressed. We ask for your understanding in this regards because sharing personal experiences of racism requires a great amount of vulnerability and courage.

We ask for your open mindedness to hear what the panelists have to share. This event is not an opportunity to question or debate the reality of racism and the personal experiences of the panelists. This event is being offered as an opportunity to listen and acknowledge the impact of normalized prejudice.
