Heart-Mind 2019 Conference- SOLD OUT!
Join us for "The Art and Science of Calm" featuring the latest science and practices related to cultivating calm and balance in our lives – at home, school, and in our community. In this one-day experiential conference, presenters will discuss evidence-informed ways to support children and youth in a fast-paced world, and share practical strategies that fit into our daily routines to reduce stress and promote well-being. Participants will experience the calming effects of mindfulness, nature, music, Indigenous knowledge, human connection, interactive experiences, and more, while connecting with like-minded and like-hearted people. Learn, laugh, and be calm!
Tickets are now on sale for $239 (+ tax & fees).

Maria LeRose returns as Conference Moderator. Keynote presenters included Marc Brackett, Carl Honoré, Susan Kaiser-Greenland, Kimberly Schonert-Reichl, Lorna Williams, and Scott Sampson.

This event will be videotaped and/or photographed by The Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education (DLC). Photographs and/or video footage will be posted to the Internet for educational purposes or used in DLC promotional media. These items will not be distributed or made available for use or purchase by any other organization for any purposes. This is in accordance with Section 26(e) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
At point of purchase, please check the box to acknowledge your agreement to be included in any video footage and/or photos taken by DLC during the upcoming events, in accordance with DLC's commitment to protection of privacy.

Are there tickets available at a student rate?
Tickets for full-time students are available for $149 (excl. tax and fees). They can be purchased with a valid student ID, and course registration. Please contact us at info@dalailamacenter.org to purchase a student ticket.
What is your cancellation policy?
Attendees can receive refunds up to 30 days before the event start date.

What are my parking and transportation options at the conference?
There is parking at Magee Secondary School located on the south side of the building. As this parking lot is limited in size, we recommend carpooling or using alternate forms of transportation. If you decide to take transit, the closest skytrain station is Langara-49th Avenue, and bus #49 stops at W 49th Avenue and Maple Street. If you decide to cycle, the Arbutus Greenway is close to the school and there are bike racks set up by the main entrance on Maple Street.
What food options will be at the conference?
Breakfast will be available prior to the start of the conference program, from 7:30am-8:30am. Lunch will be provided in addition to midmorning and midafternoon coffee & tea service.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options will be available.
