Join Raman Samra and Jasmin Kaur on Thursday, July 27th as they explore the beautiful ways that art can facilitate growth and healing. This workshop, created for women of all backgrounds, offers an opportunity to reflect on both our struggles and joys, our traumas and triumphs as we share, reflect, write and draw with one another. Remember to bring a notebook!

Facilitator Bios

Raman Samra (@madebyrambo)

Raman Samra is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Professional Art Therapist, and freelance artist from Surrey, B.C. In 2009 she began experimenting with acrylic painting and portraiture and found it to be a perfect fit. She is passionate about all forms of creative expression, with visual arts and music being some of her most prominent interests.
Raman’s passion for the arts and the healing power of creative expression led her to pursue a career in Art Therapy in 2016. She completed her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and Art Therapy and works with individuals and groups to help them connect with their inherent creativity. She is passionate about promoting artistic expression and recognizes the critical role it can play in promoting healing, connection, and self-discovery.

Jasmin Kaur (@jusmun)

Born on unceded Sto:lo First Nations territory Jasmin Kaur is a writer, illustrator and spoken word artist. Her writing, which explores otherness, decolonization and the beauty of resistance, acts as a means of healing and reclaiming identity. As a youth facilitator, Jasmin has been leading writing and personal development workshops for young people since 2013. Aside from community organizing, Jasmin is currently working towards becoming a middle school teacher.
