Heat Wave: To Catch a Thief (1955)

Sunday July 29, 3:30PM

Summer on the French Riviera, and the living is easy. And glamorous!

In Alfred Hitchcock’s 1955 romantic thriller TO CATCH A THIEF, retired American cat burglar John Robie (Cary Grant) may still be a jewel thief. Whoever the culprit is, the nocturnal heists have put wealthy vacationers in a panic. All of them, that is, except for unflappable bejewelled heiress Frances Stevens (Grace Kelly).

Before the movie, join host Nathalie Atkinson and menswear expert Pedro Mendes, of the Hogtown Rake and author of Walter Beauchamp: A Tailored History of Torontoin conversation about summer, style and Cary Grant.

With stunning Oscar-winning cinematography by Robert Burks shot on location around the Côte d'Azur, To Catch a Thief is part of the Revue’s summer miniseries of heat wave-themed films —stay tuned for details on the screenings of classics like Do the Right Thing.

There will be door prizes!
