Description

Help with Family Law Questions – Join our learning exchange call on Dec. 11, 2019, 12 noon to 1 pm. More details and registration here. Or email us by Dec. 7 if you have a family law resource you want to talk about.

CLEO Connect hosts a learning exchange, or Community of Practice (CoP), for community and legal workers in Ontario. By sharing case studies, recent research, and tips that help in this work, we aim to learn from each other and gather good practices to help us in the future.

We invite you to join our next Community of Practice call on Wednesday December 11, 2019 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. EST.

What is the next topic?

Help with Family Law Questions

We’ll check in on resources and projects that can help community workers help people with legal problems.

(Have a family law resource or project you want to feature? Email urooj.ameeruddin@cleo.on.ca by December 7, 2019.)

For example, we’ll hear from:

  • Paula Wansborough of Luke’s Place. Luke’s Place has training and resources for community workers and an expanding virtual legal clinic
  • Helena Birt of the Family Law Limited Scope Services Project. The FLLSS Project aims to improve access to justice for middle-income Ontarians by increasing the availability of unbundled legal services, including limited scope retainers and legal coaching.
  • Elizabeth Robinson of CLEO’s Guided Pathways. Family Law Guided Pathways take users through a series of questions to help them complete their family law forms.

Is there an agenda?

Our standing agenda for the calls is:

  1. Intro round: Tell us your name, location, organization and why you joined this call
  2. Intro to the topic: A case study, story or summary of an issue or resource
  3. Your turn: discuss and share your experience
  4. Ideas on how to help clients with legal problems
  5. Ideas for future calls
