We’re looking forward to learning with you on Feb. 26 from 12 noon to 1 pm!

About this Event

CLEO Connect hosts a learning exchange, or community of practice, for community and legal workers in Ontario.

Community and legal workers are the go-to people for people in their communities experiencing legal problems. By sharing case studies, recent research, and tips that help in this work, we aim to learn from each other and gather good practices to help us in the future.

We invite you to join our next learning exchange call on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 12:00-1:00 EDT. Get your ticket by clicking the "Register" button at the top right of the screen.

CLEO's Steps to Justice website also offers resources to help people with disabilities who are experiencing legal problems.

On February 26 we will hear from:

Avery Au and Shannon Kinch from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind

Know your Rights - Handbooks and videos to help Ontarians who are blind, partially sighted, and Deafblind to better understand their rights, navigate the legal system, and self-advocate to challenge discrimination. Much of the information applies to any disability.

Carly Bowie of the Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation (CERA)

CERA and Rentsafe have resources that community workers can use to help tenants with environmental sensitivities.

Lila Refaie of ARCH Disability Law Centre

ARCH Disability Law Centre is a specialty legal clinic that provides basic legal information and summary legal advice on certain disability-related areas of law to persons with disabilities from across Ontario. Community workers can benefit from their resources and refer clients to them.

Our standing agenda for the calls is:
