Please joins us for a screening of the 2019 film, Hero - Inspired by the Extraordinary Life & Times of Mr. Ulric Cross. “Inspired by the life and times of Caribbean war hero, judge and diplomat Ulric Cross whose amazing life spanned key moments of the 20th Century like WW2, African independence movements, Black Power, the rise of a new brand of Black leadership around the world, events that define our present reality.” —Frances-Anne Solomon
The film will be followed by a live Q&A with director Frances-Anne Solomon, a Caribbean British-Canadian filmmaker, member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and founder of Caribbean Tales media organization.
The event is a special Black History Month installment of the “Film For Thought” series, sponsored by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Sheridan College and the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton.
