Craft Cellars is very excited to welcome Martin Coscia from The Hess Wine Collection. One of our more unique wine tastings to date, Hess Family Wine Estates explores the treasures from the Hess California and Argentinian wineries:
In 1978, Donald Hess founded the Hess Collection Winery on Mount Veeder, 2,000 feet above the Napa Valley. True to his vision of what a New World wine should be, Mr. Hess established his winery on the volcanic slopes of Mount Veeder in the Napa Valley and defined a whole new approach to wine making. Along with its mountain vineyards, the winery has won acclaim for its other estate vineyards in the northeast and southern ends of the Napa Valley.
We will then take you on a vinous journey to Argentina, where Colomé and Amalaya joined Hess Family Estates in 2001. Colomé is one of the oldest working wineries in Argentina and home to the highest vineyards in the world, offering highly acclaimed wines that have been deemed among “Argentina’s First Growths.” Amalaya, historically part of Colomé, is now produced in its own winery in Cafayate. Amalaya offers high elevation expressions of Argentina’s signature varietals, delivering unique offerings that reflect the winery’s home in the Northern Calchaquí Valley.
An opportunity to showcase several distinctly different regions in one tasting event, Martin will taste us through a variety of wines that exhibit the diversity of the Hess Collection. A delicious food plate will be served to accompany these diverse wines.
