Description

NOTE - DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND WE HAVE ADDED AN ADDITIONAL 9 SPOTS FOR THE POP UP STUDIO. EACH OF THESE SESSIONS WILL BE FOR 40 MINUTES. FOLK ALLIANCE MEMBERS HAVE THE OPTION OF SPENDING TIME TO RECORD JUST A SINGLE SONG OR AN ENTIRE LIVE SET (max 35 minutes) AUDIENCES ARE ENCOURAGED FOR THESE SETS!

Folk Alliance International 2019

HHB Canada Pop Up Studio is a unique opportunity for attendees of the Folk Alliance Conference to record one song using high end, professional microphones, preamps, and converters. Each song will be recorded and mixed by experienced producers and engineers…..for free!

This Folk Alliance Showcase room is brought to you by HHB Canada, Universal Audio, ADAM Audio, Cranborne Audio, Digital Audio Labs, DynaMount, Manley Labs, Mojave Audio, Royer Labs, Rupert Neve Designs, sE Electronics, Softube, Townsend Labs and Traverse Analogue. Support provided by Norris Whitney Communications, Canadian Musician, Yamaha Canada, Yorkville, and Long and McQuade.

Guest Engineers

Howard Bilerman - Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Leonard Cohem, Basia Bulat

Jean Michel Pigeon – Monogrenade, Shiraz Adam, Crash Test Algae

Jay Lefebevre – Bastian Baker, Roch Voisine, Simple Plan, Forever Gentlemen

Jim Bryson - Lindi Ortega, Oh Susanna, Sarah Harmer

Jera Cravo – Briga, Ajai, Declinium

All sessions must be booked online. Limit one session per artist. Each session is 30-45 minutes in length, which allows for a quick setup and teardown (10 to 15 minutes) and at least one, live off the floor take. The song will be mixed and loaded onto a USB key. Please be prompt…being late for the session will make for a very short, or cancelled booking. An audience is welcome and encouraged…often standing room only. Limited seating available, first come first serve. Please note MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE FOLK ALLIANCE CONFERENCE TO PARTICIPATE. Due to time limitations for each session we will not be able to record “full band” situations.

Please note the HHB Canada Pop Up studio will have media release forms at the conference. HHB Canada will be filming and possibly streaming some of the performances. It will be up to each artist if they choose to allow HHB Canada to film and potentially use their performance for future streaming and posting.

PLEASE CONTACT DAVE MISENER for WAITING LIST AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
