On the occasion of the UN General Assembly, the ILO, UN Women and the OECD will launch the Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC). This strategic multi-stakeholder partnership will assist UN Member States, in collaboration with employers’ and workers’ organisations and other key stakeholders, in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Target 8.5 which calls for equal pay for work of equal value and Goal 5 which seeks gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The High-level Launch of EPIC will bring together senior Government and UN officials, business executives as well as leaders of trade unions and other international organizations to discuss the importance of equal pay in increasing
economic value, building sustainable enterprises and to share lessons learned from enacting equal pay policies.
