Event description

Description

Presenting, A Musical Journey of Hope at the first ever HIGH NOTES AVANTE SOCIAL event at Pearl Piano Studio on 15 Sims Crescent in Richmond Hill, 7:30 pm on September 14. Proceeds benefit High Notes Avante and our registered charity’s efforts to use music to raise the image and normalize mental health issues. We are all affected.

Join us for an intimate melodic adventure filled with hope, music and inspiration highlighting composers who catapulted to higher notes despite their lived mental health experience. Discover the resiliency of the human spirit and how individuals over the centuries lived with some of the greatest challenges and adversities at a time when resources were most scarce, yet they still had tremendous impact and significance in shaping our culture in the 21st Century.

The exciting Musical Journey of Hope features Paul Radkowski--CEO of Life Recovery Program. His inspiring interactive presentation provides understanding, teaches and touches us with this simple universal truth--we all have something to overcome.

Paul is a classically trained pianist, psychotherapist and CEO of an online wellness platform that provides support to those struggling with mental health and addiction issues. He will play excerpts of music by composers such as Beethoven, Rachmanninof, Gershwin and Ravel. Paul is joined by 10-year old Rosa Hei from North York Music Festival's High Notes Gala class for a Tchaikowsky nocturne, and awarded psychotherapist and vocalist Monique Peats for a Judy Garland number.

Appropriately, as September is recovery month, this event is sponsored by Pearl Pianos, renowned for their restoration of beautiful high end pianos. Proceeds from each piano sold as a result of attending this event will support High Notes Avante Productions Inc. (a registered charity) in our continued efforts to raise the image of mental illness, by producing "Grammy & TedTalk-inspired" events that educate, reduce loneliness and isolation and connect people who have been touched by mental illness with the resources available to help them move forward.

Thanks for believing and caring enough to join us in addressing the issues faced by so many families, our friends and in our community.

Refreshments included. Cash bar. A minimum donation of $20 is suggested.
