Join Township of Langley staff, local builders, energy advisors and other
stakeholders to participate in a duct blast (DB) test and high performance ducting
workshop to learn best practices for ventilation system design.
• Learn about the benefits of ventilation and the importance of integrating the ventilation early in the design process in all dwelling types.
• Understand the advantages and limitations of the 4 proven code-compliant systems in use today.
• Learn how to avoid the common problems and occupant complaints which result if things go wrong
• Participate in a live demonstration of a DB test in a BC Energy Step Code level 4 home.
• Learn the key questions to ask your ventilation contractor to ensure the installed system is effective first and efficient second.
• Learn how to right-size your equipment (bigger is not always better) and develop an understanding of the annual operating costs of ventilation systems.
• Access resources to better understand ventilation system design and function to manage moisture in a home.
This is an active construction site. Personal protective equipment will be required to be provided by attendees.
