Do you want to get out on the trails but want to increase your knowledge and confidence so you can have a safe and enjoyable hiking season? Join an ACMG Hiking Guide for a day on the trail to

• review what gear should be in your pack, on your back, and on your feet

• understand how to plan your day before leaving home

• become a responsible trail user in the park

• discuss common group challenges and how to mitigate them to have a safe and fun day

• know when you need more training and where to find it

This program will require a moderate level of fitness. You should be able to hike 5-7 kilometres with some elevation gain while carrying a day pack. The hike location will be determined based on trail conditions but will be accessible from the Chateau or via a staff shuttle. You will receive a pre-course package prior to the course date that will include trip planning background information, a gear list, the program meeting spot, and hike location.
