Event description

Description

In this 'Introduction to Hiking' series of workshops we will share the many joys of hiking. We will learn how to prepare for a hike; safety issues that might be involved; what to bring on the trail; and the different types of hikes offered by Niagara Bruce Trail Club. Each workshop will begin with a 30 minute presentation and question-and-answer period, followed by a 1.5hr hike. Wear sturdy comfortable walking shoes (if you have them) and clothing appropriate for the weather. Bring water.

This is a three day workshop:

Sunday, September 16, 1pm-3pm, Queenston Heights Park, near the Bruce Trail Cairn, Niagara River Parkway, Queenston. (cairn is in the parking lot to the left of the round-about entrance.)

Sunday, September 23, 1pm-3pm, Short Hills Provincial Park, Wiley Rd entrance, St Catharines (near the intersections of DeCew Rd & Cataract Rd)

Sunday, September 30, 1pm-4pm, Niagara College, 135 Taylor Rd, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Meet in the Greenhouses. This workshop will include Bruce Trail Day event - a trail-wide celebration for the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
