Event description

Description

Experience the amazing effects of increasing your Hip Mobility with yoga and enjoy some Acupuncture at the end of your practice to set in the effects and relax your body. No yoga experience required!

The Hip region houses important parts of our body: our Lymphathic system (the carrier of metabolic waste), the Digestive system (absorbs nutrients and filters waste), big and stabilizing muscles, major arteries and blood vessels, sexual organs, the sacrum and coccyx, and the hip joint. Limited Hip Mobility impedes normal function of all the parts mentioned and can come with a whole host of short falls and disease or injury development. Many of you have already felt the effects of sitting for long periods, not moving outside a limited range of movement and could be feeling stuck.

The body moves and needs to move in order to maintain healthy circulation of all its fluids (like blood, lymph, fascia, cerebral spinal fluid) and healthy joint and muscle function. Our physical power and strength tends to be the greatest in our core. If our hips become weak and injured then getting around, standing up, walking down and up stairs, playing with our children, practicing sports, enjoying pain free movement in general is affected.

In this Hip Point and Community Acupuncture workshop you will explore and understand what normal functioning hips look and feel like. This workshop is beginner-friendly. Learn balanced yoga postures and how to correct overcompensation and wake up inactive muscles to support proper movement, increasing strength and flexibility. You will be taught acupressure points associated with hip mobility learning how to release hip tension and pain on your own anytime and anywhere. The workshop finishes with community acupuncture. Lay back and enjoy an ancient form of health maintenace to restore energetic flow and pain relief in your body.
