Join us for a panel and learn how ideas turn into projects and successful stories!
You can expect to hear from passionate leaders that have been obsessed with helping the healthcare sector by creating solutions to help hospitals and clinics deliver better care to patients. We will get to learn from founders that have successfully brought an idea to life to inspire you to create big for the hackathon. We will have an opportunity to ask burning questions, and network.

This event is part of the Health Innovation Program (#HIP613) - Ottawa's first Health Innovation Program that aims to break down the barriers to healthcare innovation in partnership with CHEO-OCTC (Children's hospital of Eastern Ontario/Ottawa's Children Treatment Center). #HIP613 consists of a series of talks and hands-on workshops that will connect people, ideas and skills to build teams to tackle frontline healthcare problems at our Spring 2017 hackathon.

Suzanne draws upon her diverse experience to envision an iBIONICS that will profoundly change the lives of thousands of blind people. She is a bold international entrepreneur accustomed to highly complex and pressured environments. Suzanne served Canada as an engineering officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and made her first foray into entrepreneurship by successfully bootstrapping a strategic communications agency and publishing house in a frontier market. Her clients have included Virgin Health Bank, Samsung, Accenture, HSBC, Carnegie Melon University, Fujitsu, Siemens and Shell, to name a few.
Dr. Marc Lamarre practiced dentistry for over 28 years in Germany, Canada and the Cayman Islands. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Ottawa, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto and an Executive MBA degree from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. He co-founded Cumulus Dental in 2013 with the mission to fundamentally change the way dentists and hygienists diagnose, treat and monitor their patients’ oral health.
Elizabeth started her entrepreneurship journey at the age of 18 years old. She founded three startups: Camp Pulsion, AmbiZion, and Welbi. A graduate of the Telfer School of Management, uOttawa, she is working full time on Welbi. Welbi uses existing wearable technology, like Fitbit and Garmin, to help families take care of their loved ones. Welbi analyzes sleep quality, activity, and heart rate patterns and sends notifications to families if a risk or abnormal change is detected. Welbi's main objective is to help families keep their loved ones at home longer and happier.
Michel Paquet, an experienced leader with more than 20 years in technology, founded Aetonix Systems in 2014 focusing on improving communication and efficiency between patients and healthcare professionals. Prior to Aetonix, Mr Paquet was Engineering Vice-President at Wind River, a subsidiary of Intel for 7 years, leading the VxWorks product development. Mr Paquet also occupied leadership position at IBM, Rational Software, and Nortel Networks. Mr Paquet has many years of experience with managing R&D team distributed globally and with developing and introducing product to market. With Aetonix, Mr Paquet aims at helping people with special conditions in a home settings to connect with the proper circle of care members and to receive the care require.
