Description

Part Five in the Canada 150 Lecture Series

Speaker: Rob Winslow of 4th Line Theater

Robert Winslow, one of Canada’s leading theatre artists, multiple award winner and founder of 4th Line Theatre, will discuss his newest play History of Drinking in Cavan. The play looks at alcohol consumption or the lack thereof in the local area over the past 200 years. Robert Winslow and his alter-ego, King, the town drunk, will take audiences on a wild historical ride from the early days of Irish settlement in the township through to present-day drinking practices. The play veers from the anecdotal to the personal, from the outrageous to the serious as Winslow shares the rich stories of local residents and his own experiences growing up in Cavan.
