Experience Murnau’s silent masterpiece, Sunrise: A Tale of Two Humans (1927), during History + The Moving Image on Saturday, September 7th, 2019, 7:30 p.m., at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. History + is a unique program that lets you explore different aspects of the Village and history, than you may experience during a regular visit– like exploring one of the most popular media mediums of our time, film.

Enjoy the atmosphere of Trinity Church, one of three remaining carpenter gothic churches in Ontario, as you take in our feature, introduced with a short talk by Dr. Janelle Blankenship of Western University.

Sunrise, tells the tale of a farmer, smitten with a city girl, who woos and convinces him to do away with his wife. This wonderfully romantic film boasts a 98% score from Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, and an Audience Score of 92%, and is considered by many to be one of Hollywood’s finest silent films. Tickets are $10 and are available online as well as by phone. Reservations are recommended; refreshments will be available throughout the show.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Fanshawe Pioneer Village is located within the Fanshawe Conservation Area, entrance at 1424 Clarke Road. Let the conservation area staff know you are going to an event at Fanshawe Pioneer Village and they will let you through the gate.

There is no public transportation to site.

What's the refund policy?

Refunds are not available, the event will run rain or shine with a rain location.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We are tree friendly! You do not need to bring a printed copy of your ticket with you but will ask for your name, or the name you registered under at the Fanshawe Pioneer Village Visitor Entrance/Tollgate and at the event start location.
