Dr. Christiana Bratiotis, PhD

Associate Professor, Social Work , University of British Columbia

Dr. Christiana Bratiotis pioneered work in the formation and operation of multi-disciplinary community hoarding task forces, which is highlighted in her book, “The Hoarding Handbook: A Guide for Human Service Professionals”. In addition to her scholarly work, she supervises students who provide clinical treatment and she offers national and international consultation on hoarding behaviour to families and communities. The HOMES Multidisciplinary Hoarding Risk Assessment has been translated into six languages and is a tool used by communities to assess risk and guide hoarding interventions.

Dr. Sheila Woody, PhD

Professor, Psychology , University of British Columbia

Sheila Woody is Professor of Psychology at UBC and a registered psychologist in BC. She has many years of experience conducting research involving anxiety-based disorders and hoarding. She directs the UBC Centre for Collaborative Research on Hoarding, which was established in 2011 to facilitate research on hoarding, especially from the perspective of community interventions. Dr. Woody also serves as a research consultant to Vancouver’s Hoarding Action Response Team.

Jesse Edsell-Vetter*

Hoarding Intervention Manager, Metro Housing Boston

Jesse Edsell-Vetter is the founder of MetroHousing|Boston's Center for Hoarding Intervention. In 2006, Edsell-Vetter developed MetroHousing's successful hoarding intervention model. Over the past thirteen years, he has expanded MetroHousing's hoarding intervention work to include training and technical assistance, replication projects throughout the United States, and a Hoarding Intervention Training Institute. His work has been featured by National Public Radio, the Boston Globe, and Boston Globe Magazine.
