HOLD STILL presents the photographic work of youth human trafficking survivors in this moving and eye opening exhibition at the historical 918 Bathurst Centre. Exploring the lived experiences of young women and life after being trafficked, the series of photos tell the stories of hardship, survival and empowerment.

Each photo will be up for auction, with all proceeds going to East Metro Youth Services' Gender-Based Violence program.

*Food and drinks will be served. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

In addition to buying your ticket to HOLD STILL, we also ask you to consider donating to East Metro's Gender-Based Violence program to help support important year-round services and activities.

Survivors of domestic sex trafficking are controlled and isolated by their traffickers in various ways. Food, clothing, identification, their phone among many other things are used as a means of control. Your donations can help them get access these things and help them leave a trafficking situation.


A donation of:

$5 can buy a survivor 1 token to come to an appointment and see a counsellor at EMYS or to a shelter or a safe place to go

$10 can buy a survivor a hot meal

$20 can buy a new SIM card so the survivor can change their phone number; a cab ride to get out of a dangerous situation; or a hygiene kit (toothpaste, soap and shampoo)

$50 can buy a bus ticket to get away from their trafficker and back to their home town; a night at a hotel to be away from their trafficker and be safe; or new government-issued ID

$100 can buy a new passport so the survivor can have identification; contribution towards a first month’s rent; contribution towards clothing
