Georgina Wainwright-Kemdirim is a senior official at Global Affairs Canada. She serves as lead negotiator of Canada’s inclusive trade chapters in trade agreements, including Trade and Gender, and leads on the implementation of those in-force chapters. She is also advancing work on this theme at the OECD and WTO. She was Canada’s lead negotiator for the Global Trade and Gender Arrangement and the new international Indigenous Peoples Economic and Trade Cooperation Arrangement. As Canada’s Gender Focal Point for trade policy and negotiations, she developed Canada’s new approach for applying a comprehensive and dynamic Gender Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) to trade negotiations and final agreements.
