Howard Eaton, Ed.M., Research Director, Arrowsmith Program and Founder/Director of the Eaton Educational Group discusses the importance of cognitive intervention for children with learning difficulties. His own history of being diagnosed with Dyslexia in 1972, to his starting schools focusing on cognitive intervention with the Arrowsmith Program will be highlighted. Mr. Eaton feels that a perfect relationships can exists between current academic interventions for learning differences and the new discoveries surrounding neuroplasticity and cognitive intervention. He will describe how children with Dyslexia or reading differences can benefit from cognitive intervention, especially those that do not respond to current achievement intervention approaches.
