Event description

Description

Home School Dress Rehearsals are a chance for homeschooled children and their parents to experience Symphony Nova Scotia onstage in the concert hall at a very reduced price.

An emcee or the guest artist will guide your experience and provide information about the rehearsal process. Please note that Home School Dress Rehearsals are working rehearsals, and are not intended to replace a live concert experience. Rehearsals may also have public and private schools in attendance, as well as Symphony subscribers.

Cost: $7 per person, plus fees.

Ticket sales close: Monday, March 18 at 12:00 noon.

Nova Scotia’s own Dinuk Wijeratne is a JUNO-winning dynamo. He’s “exuberantly creative” (New York Times). “Internationally respected for his virtuosity and sensitivity” (CBC). “An artist who reflects a positive vision of our cultural future” (Toronto Star). Now, Symphony Nova Scotia proudly presents Dinuk’s newest work – the middle-Eastern-influenced Clarinet Concerto, written specifically for Dinuk’s close friend and longtime collaborator, the Syrian-born clarinetist Kinan Azmeh. Plus, we perform Ligeti’s Concert Românesc, made famous from Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, and finally, Beethoven’s stunning Symphony No. 7 – a beautiful, unforgettable masterpiece, and one of the most popular symphonies of all time.
