IMPORTANT NOTICE!: On November 24, 2020, the Provincial government announced a three week state of public health emergency. The new public health measures apply to the Edmonton Zone, which includes St. Albert. St. Albert is currently under enhanced classification, which means additional measures are needed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. About this event

Art Gallery of St. Albert provides fun, educational art programs instructed by professional art instructors right in the heart of downtown St. Albert.

Our non-profit art programs are designed for families with children ages 5 to 13.

Programs are 1.5 hours in length and parents are always welcome but required to stay and assist any children under 7 years of age.

Get your family out of the house, take a personal break, or learn something new and leave the whole creative art making mess to us!

Days: Thursdays

Time: 1:30 - 3:00 pm

Location: St. Albert Place Visual Art Studios (5 St. Anne Street)

Artists will learn about Christmas & Hanukkah and create 1-2 small art projects that relate to the experience!

Thursday, December 15: Holidays Around the World Part 2

Artists will listen to stories about Diwali & Bodhi Day. They will then create a small paper lantern and draw a tree of awakening on a slab of air-dry clay for a fun, hands on art experience!

Thursday, December 22: Holidays Around the World Part 3

Artists will listen to stories about Chinese New Year & Ramadan/Eid Al-Fitr. They will then sculpt a small polymer clay rabbit along with a sparkling star and moon garland for a fun, hands on art experience!

HEALTH & SAFETY

We strive to keep staff, volunteers, visitors and program participants safe in our programming spaces and we will continue to follow all provincial government regulations.

OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING SAFETY PROTOCOLS:

• All staff and instructors are fully vaccinated

• Those experiencing illness should not attend class (refunds/transfers available on a case by case basis)

• Increased cleaning of high-touch surfaces

• Individual supplies for each student

• Masking is encouraged

Please note, there may be an occasion where we are unable to safely offer regular classes consistently due to the unpredictability of COVID-19. This could result in classes being interrupted, canceled, or moved to online, depending on the program.
