Event description

Description

This two-day workshop will explore ideas of how as intake workers and case managers in Housing First programs, we can engage with our Indigenous community members, many of whom are experiencing the highest rates of being homeless, in culturally informed and culturally safe ways.

We will share stories of how people traditionally supported community members in the struggles they were experiencing and how we can use the SPDAT (orgcode) to support the current work in our community. Time will be spent on sharing ways that assist us in working with the whole person, exploring the journey into homelessness from an Indigeous perspective. Discussion will take place on ways to set up a good relationship with the Case Manager as well as sharing on how the relationship with the community member can be further nurtured. All Our Relations.
