Description
The Women's Centre of Halton will be hosting a luncheon to honour the contributions of local women to our community and country. This luncheon will include a multimedia presentation highlighting the stories of women of the past, as well as short cremony to honour contemporary exemplary women.
Members of the local community, including school groups, will be invited to attend our celebration of 150 of Exemplary Women. While women may have been excluded from much of history, we are making this effort to fill in the gaps and show all of the important and interesting ways that women make a difference.
Our main goals are: to educate the local community about the contributions of women over the last 150 years; to honour those women who are currently making a difference in their community; and to inspire the younger generation (girls and boys) with the life stories of these exemplary women.
Please join us on Wednesday, June 2, 2017 for our luncheon and celebration of 150 years of exemplary women!
This event will be held at the Harbour Banquet and Conference Centre, 2340 Ontario St, Oakville. Please call The Women’s Centre of Halton at 905-847-5520 for more information.
This initiative is made possible by the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th, a collaboration between The Oakville Community Foundation, the Government of Canada, and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast.
