Event description
Psychological First Aid aims to build hope and resilience in the face of stress, loss, trauma, and grief.

About this Event

Psychological First Aid is endorsed by Health Emergency Management B.C. and equips learners in developing a functional understanding of the effects of disasters -- stress, loss, trauma and grief, with emphasis on preparation, protection, resilience and self-care. Learners will be oriented to the World Health Organization's Look, Listen, Link, and Live model - a resiliency-building approach to emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Participants will learn to support self and others to cope with the effects of various types of stress. Experiential learning and table top scenarios build knowledge, skill, and confidence. These factors are key in supporting optimism and resilience.
