Jolanta Krysinski graduated from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Arts in 1999 and completed a Postgraduate Art History Diploma Program at the University of British Columbia in 2006. Prior to joining RainCity in 2010 Jolanta worked as a Coordinator for Volunteer Connections, where she supervised Peer Support Workers within a Fraser Health Project. Passionate about Peer Work and Housing First Model, Jolanta has been working for RainCity Housing and Support Society since November 2010. Jolanta started working for RainCity Housing as a Peer, using her lived-experience, for Housing First ACT Team, former ‘At Home’ Project for the MHCC, in Vancouver BC until 2015. Since August 2015 Jolanta remains highly involved in Housing First Practice while working as a Program Manager for RainCity Housing and Support Society ICM Housing First Team in Surrey, B.C., also supervising RainCity Housing and Support Society TriCities Housing First Outreach in Coquitlam since June 2017. Working as a Peer Specialist and Program Manager has given Jolanta the opportunity to work alongside key stakeholders, health professionals, and leaders in the delivery of scattered site Housing First services. Additionally, Jolanta has acquired specialized knowledge regarding the Housing First, ACT and ICM models, mental health and recovery practices, psychopharmacological interventions as well as harm reduction approaches and motivational interviewing practices but always bases her work and knowledge from Peer Work and lived experience back ground.
