5 - part webinar series for Atlantic First Nations staff
The APC and Roxanne Harper at Turtle Island Associates Inc. have partnered to host a 5-part capacity development webinar series. Each topic will be delivered over two sessions on two different days, and each participating First Nation will be invited to request a one-on-one consulting session afterward with Roxanne Harper.
Who is invited?
First Nation staff who work in finance, housing & infrastructure! Individual staff are welcome to join, however we encourage multiple staff members or whole Housing Departments to participate in the webinars together.
Cost to participate?
All sessions are free of charge!
What are the dates of the webinars?
This 2-part webinar is taking place over two days: Tuesday, February 1st, and Thursday, February 3rd, 2022 both starting at 1:00 PM.
What will I learn during "Developing and Implementing a Rental Housing Policy"?
The objectives of the webinar are to:

a) Discuss why a First Nation should charge a housing payment (e.g. rent, user or
occupancy fee), how to determine payment rates, developing a payment policy and
collection procedures and, planning for arrears management; and
b) Highlight information that should be shared with Chief and Council and the
community to influence support for charging for housing.

How can I get a consulting session with Roxanne Harper?
Each First Nation that participates in the webinar series will be invited to bring a topic, issue or challenge they are facing to discuss with Roxanne during a 1-hour consulting session. All 1-hour sessions are free of charge.
